What is your Superpower?
My superpower is to observe my emotions, step back from them, and choose my responses even when I’m upset or angry. I train this superpower every day through my mindful meditation practice.
What are you working on to become a better human?
I’ve been working on forgiveness and letting go. Even when people have been hurtful or cruel, I work to forgive them. It’s not for their sake but for my own. Holding on to anger only leads to more pain. When we forgive people, they can no longer hurt us.
How has your family shaped the way you see the world?
My parents taught me the value of spirituality and compassion. My wife taught me how to love. My children continually teach me to open myself to greater levels of love and acceptance.
What is living a mindful life?
A mindful life is a deliberate balance between our inner needs for silence, rest, healing, and contemplation and our outer needs for purpose, love, accomplishments, and success.
