Hold the copper tongue scraper by its handles, ensuring that the curved, U-shaped or V-shaped part of the scraper is facing down and away from your tongue.
Open your mouth wide and gently extend your tongue as far as you comfortably can. Be careful not to trigger your gag reflex.
Place the rounded edge of the copper scraper as far back on your tongue as you can without causing discomfort. Start scraping gently but firmly, moving it forward along your tongue towards the tip.
Repeat the scraping process, making several passes from the back to the front of your tongue. Try to cover the entire surface of your tongue. You may notice a white or yellowish residue on the scraper—this is normal.
After each pass, rinse the copper tongue scraper under warm water to remove the accumulated debris. Continue scraping until your tongue looks and feels clean.
Lastly using the scraper, rinse your mouth thoroughly with water or mouthwash to remove any remaining debris and refresh your mouth.
