Product Description Dr Bronner’s pure Castile citrus soap releases the fresh fragrance of real orange, lemon and lime oils as it lathers up smooth and soft to gently cleanse your body, face, and even your hair without drying them out. Aside from their unique and well-loved labels, Dr Bronner’s soaps are known for being natural, even a bit old-fashioned. And it’s true that they contain no detergents or synthetic chemicals - but that’s not to say there’s no chemistry involved. Saponification, the process by which natural oils combine with an alkali to form water, glycerine and soap, is one of the first chemical reactions ever discovered. Simple enough, but the soapmaking secret’s in knowing which oils to use, in which proportions, and Dr Bronner’s have this ancient art down to a science. They blend coconut oil for lather, olive oil for softness, and hemp and jojoba oils for the way they mimic the natural oils of the skin and leave it smooth and supple. Unlike most manufacturers, they also keep the highly moisturising glycerine in the finished bar. It’s friendly to your skin and friendly to the planet - the only preservatives are sunflower seed vitamin E and tapioca-derived citric acid, so the soap is 100% biodegradable, and it’s sold in 100% post-consumer recycled packaging.
